Other weeks, you have to dig a little deeper to find players worth adding to your roster.

Week 6 is a week to dig.

The obvious names are already gone in most competitive dynasty leagues. The managers who consistently find value are the ones willing to look beyond the waiver-wire headlines and identify players whose recent production could be the beginning of something bigger.

This week, I’m looking at two wide receivers who deserve more attention: Jaylin Noel of the Houston Texans and Darius Cooper of the Philadelphia Eagles.

They’re two different types of dynasty targets. Noel is a young receiver whose role could grow in Houston, while Cooper is turning limited opportunities into touchdowns and fantasy production.

Neither is a guaranteed long-term starter. But that’s not what we’re looking for on the dynasty waiver wire. We’re looking for players who could be worth considerably more a few weeks from now than they are today.

Week 6 Quick Take

Jaylin Noel (WR, HOU) — Developmental add for rebuilding teams. 8 catches, 126 yards and a TD over his last two games.

Darius Cooper (WR, PHI) — Upside add for contenders. 4 touchdowns in his last four games.

1. Jaylin Noel — Don’t Be Too Quick to Write Him Off

The big conversation surrounding Houston’s receiving corps has been the acquisition of Marvin Harrison Jr. The former fourth overall pick was traded from Arizona to Houston for 2027 second- and sixth-round picks, reuniting him with his former Ohio State teammate, quarterback C.J. Stroud. It’s an intriguing move for both the Texans and Harrison, who is looking to get his career back on track.

But while everybody is discussing what Harrison’s arrival means for Houston, don’t overlook what Jaylin Noel has done over the last two weeks.

Noel recorded three catches for a career-high 85 yards, then followed it up with five catches for 41 yards and a touchdown in Houston’s 26-3 win over Tennessee. That’s eight receptions, 126 yards and a score over two games.

Those numbers aren’t going to make him a household name overnight, but they’re worth paying attention to in dynasty leagues.

Noel was a 2025 third-round pick out of Iowa State who appeared in all 17 games as a rookie. He caught 26 passes for 292 yards and two touchdowns in a limited offensive role while also handling return duties. Now he’s getting more opportunities to show what he can do.

And with everything happening in Houston, I’m not ready to write him off.

Houston’s WR Room Is Getting Crowded — and That’s the Problem

Let’s be honest: trying to figure out Houston’s wide receiver depth chart right now might be an exercise in frustration.

Nico Collins remains the established centerpiece, Marvin Harrison Jr. is looking for a fresh start, and Jayden Higgins’ season-ending torn ACL has created an opening for others. Then there’s Tank Dell, who is working his way back from one of the most devastating knee injuries we’ve seen a receiver suffer.

Dell’s potential return adds another variable to an already complicated situation. Even if he’s nearing a comeback, questions remain about how quickly he’ll regain his previous form and what kind of role he’ll command when he’s back.

Put it all together, and you have a receiving corps with plenty of talent, plenty of uncertainty and very few guarantees beyond Collins’ established place in the offense. It might be one of the toughest wide receiver rooms in the league to figure out right now.

That doesn’t automatically make Noel a great dynasty investment. Harrison could find his footing, Dell could return to form, and other receivers could hold onto their roles. There are legitimate reasons to be cautious.

But there’s also a reason not to dismiss Noel: he’s already producing, and we still don’t know exactly how this receiving room will shake out.

Noel doesn’t need to become Houston’s WR1 to have dynasty value. He needs to establish himself as a reliable part of the passing game, earn consistent targets and turn those opportunities into production.

His last two games are an encouraging start. The 85-yard performance showed his ability to make plays downfield, while his five-catch, one-touchdown game demonstrated that he can contribute in other ways, too.

That’s the bet here. Not that Noel is destined to pass Harrison or replace Dell, but that his recent production deserves more attention than he’s getting.

My Dynasty Advice on Jaylin Noel

If Noel is sitting on your dynasty waiver wire, I’d consider adding him before we get a clearer picture of Houston’s long-term receiver rotation.

Yes, the competition is real. And yes, his path to consistent targets could get more difficult as the roster gets healthier.

But dynasty managers don’t always need certainty. Sometimes, the best move is grabbing a young receiver while the situation is still unsettled and the price is low.

I’m not calling for a breakout, and I’m not suggesting you spend aggressively to acquire him. I’m simply saying don’t be too quick to write Jaylin Noel off. If he keeps producing while this receiving corps sorts itself out, you may be glad you took a chance on him before the rest of your league caught on.

2. Darius Cooper — Four Touchdowns Are Getting Harder to Ignore

Darius Cooper is a different kind of dynasty target.

With Noel, we’re looking for a young receiver whose role might expand. With Cooper, a second-year undrafted free agent out of Tarleton State, we’re looking at a player who is already producing despite limited opportunities.

The Philadelphia Eagles have struggled to generate consistent offensive production, and injuries have added another layer of uncertainty. With Saquon Barkley battling a hamstring injury and DeVonta Smith sidelined with a hamstring injury of his own, Philadelphia needs somebody to step up.

Cooper has taken advantage.

He has scored four touchdowns in his last four games, starting with a game-winning grab against Tennessee in Week 2, followed by two scores against the Rams and a 62-yard touchdown against Jacksonville in London. He’s also reached double-digit fantasy points in three of the four games in which he’s recorded a reception.

That’s the kind of production that makes you stop and take notice. We’re talking about a receiver who wasn’t expected to be a major fantasy contributor, yet he keeps finding ways to get into the end zone.

At some point, you have to ask whether this is simply a short-term touchdown streak or the beginning of a player earning a bigger role.

Can Darius Cooper Keep It Going?

Let’s be realistic about what we’re buying here.

Four touchdowns on just seven catches is an incredible stretch. It’s also a scoring rate that’s nearly impossible to sustain over a full season.

You shouldn’t expect him to score every week, and you shouldn’t treat his recent fantasy production as proof that he’s suddenly a dependable dynasty WR2.

But that doesn’t mean he belongs on the waiver wire.

Cooper has demonstrated big-play ability, and he’s taken advantage of the increased opportunity created by Smith’s absence. He’s shown that he can turn a limited number of targets into a significant fantasy result.

The question now is what happens when Philadelphia’s receiving corps gets healthier. If Smith returns, Cooper could see fewer targets. If Cooper keeps earning snaps and making plays, however, he could force his way into a more meaningful role.

That uncertainty is precisely why I’d approach him as a speculative dynasty addition rather than a player to spend aggressively on.

The touchdowns are real. Whether the opportunity becomes sustainable is the question.

If Cooper is available in your dynasty league, I’d be willing to use a bench spot to find out. You don’t need to believe every touchdown streak will continue. You need to recognize when a player is producing enough to deserve a closer look.

Cooper has done that.

Dynasty Waiver Wire Week 6: Who Should You Add First?

If I’m choosing between these two receivers, my preference depends on what your dynasty roster needs.

Jaylin Noel — The developmental investment. Noel is my preferred target for managers looking for a younger receiver who could grow into a more consistent role. His recent two-game stretch is encouraging, and the changing Houston receiving corps creates an opportunity worth monitoring.

Darius Cooper — The immediate upside play. Cooper is the more intriguing option if you want a player who is already scoring fantasy points. Four touchdowns in four games demand attention, even if his touchdown rate is unlikely to continue at the same pace.

For rebuilding dynasty teams, I’d lean toward Noel because of the longer-term opportunity. For contending teams that need a potential short-term contributor, Cooper is worth a look.

Neither player is a guaranteed breakout. That’s why they’re leftovers. But if you have room at the end of your roster, these are the kinds of names worth considering before the next big performance makes the decision for you.

My Week 6 takeaway: Add Noel for the potential role growth, and add Cooper if you want to take a chance on a receiver who has already shown he can find the end zone.

This is a weekly series on overlooked players you might be able to pick up for free. Last week, Last week we focused on the Chiefs WR room, in Dynasty Waiver Wire Week 5 – is Jalen Royals a Must Add?

Dynasty Waiver Wire Week 6 FAQ

Should I pick up Jaylin Noel in dynasty leagues?

Yes, if you have a bench spot. Noel has eight catches for 126 yards and a touchdown over his last two games, and Houston’s receiver room is unsettled with Jayden Higgins out for the season and Tank Dell still working back. He’s a low-cost developmental add, especially for rebuilding teams.

How does the Marvin Harrison Jr. trade affect Jaylin Noel?

It makes Noel’s path to targets harder, but not closed. Harrison is adjusting to a new offense, Dell’s return timeline and form are uncertain, and Noel only needs to become a reliable part of the passing game, not the WR1, to hold dynasty value.

Is Darius Cooper’s touchdown streak sustainable?

Probably not at this pace. Four touchdowns on seven catches is an unusually high scoring rate. His long-term value depends on whether he keeps earning snaps once DeVonta Smith returns.

Who should I add first, Jaylin Noel or Darius Cooper?

Rebuilding teams should lean toward Noel for his longer-term role growth. Contending teams that need a short-term spark should consider Cooper, who is already producing fantasy points.

How many rookie draft rounds and roster spots are in Masters dynasty leagues?

Masters Fantasy Football Leagues dynasty leagues feature 21-man rosters, a three-round rookie draft and the ability to trade future rookie picks.

Build Your Dynasty at Masters Fantasy Football Leagues

Dynasty fantasy football rewards managers who think beyond the current week’s lineup.

The waiver wire is one piece of the puzzle. Drafting rookies, trading future picks, identifying undervalued players and making moves before the rest of your league are all part of building a championship roster.

At Masters Fantasy Football Leagues, we’ve been running fantasy football leagues since 2008, giving dynasty managers the opportunity to compete, rebuild and develop their teams for the long term.

Our dynasty format features 21-man rosters, a three-round rookie draft and the ability to trade future rookie picks. That gives you more ways to build a competitive roster than simply chasing this year’s points.

Whether you’re hunting for the next Jaylin Noel, taking a chance on a touchdown producer like Darius Cooper or building around future rookie classes, dynasty football is about making the right decisions before everyone else catches up.

You don’t have to win every waiver-wire battle.
