Fantasy football draft season is officially underway, and the high-stakes redraft leagues are filling fast.<\/p>\n
Yesterday, Masters Fantasy Football Leagues completed another Platinum Division high-stakes redraft draft with more than $11,000 in prize money on the line. This was not a mock draft or a free league \u2014 it was a real-money draft featuring 12 teams, 18 rounds, and 216 total selections.<\/p>\n
Instead of telling you who to draft, we’re going to let the numbers speak for themselves: how the 216 picks broke down by position and what stood out when real money was on the line.<\/p>\n
The Platinum Division draft featured:<\/p>\n
Wide receivers and running backs combined for roughly two-thirds of the entire draft \u2014 a clear signal of where experienced owners invest their draft capital when the stakes are high.<\/p>\n
The pace was just as notable as the positional breakdown. The first pick came at 7:00:04 p.m. ET and the last at 8:38:26 p.m. ET \u2014 all 216 selections in about 98 minutes, an average of roughly 27 seconds per pick.<\/p>\n
The first 12 selections:<\/p>\n
Running backs edged out wide receivers early \u2014 seven RBs to five WRs in Round 1. That mix continued in Round 2, when CeeDee Lamb, Brock Bowers, Nico Collins, Malik Nabers, Saquon Barkley, De’Von Achane, Drake London, Omarion Hampton, Trey McBride, George Pickens, A.J. Brown, and Rashee Rice came off the board.<\/p>\n
Through the first 24 picks, owners had selected 12 wide receivers, 10 running backs, and 2 tight ends \u2014 and not a single quarterback.<\/p>\n
The first quarterback, Josh Allen, wasn’t selected until pick 3.03. The next wave \u2014 Lamar Jackson, Caleb Williams, and Joe Burrow \u2014 didn’t arrive until Round 6. By the end of the draft, 22 quarterbacks had come off the board, but owners clearly prioritized running backs, wide receivers, and elite tight ends first.<\/p>\n
Wide receiver was the most-selected position at 77 picks (\u224836%), and it wasn’t front-loaded. Receivers continued coming off the board deep into the middle and late rounds.<\/p>\n
Running back finished close behind at 65 picks (\u224830%). The position went early and often: Gibbs, Robinson, and McCaffrey opened the draft; Taylor, Jeanty, Cook, and Brown rounded out Round 1; Barkley and Achane went early in Round 2 \u2014 with steady RB selections continuing throughout.<\/p>\n
Tight end accounted for 26 selections (\u224812%). Brock Bowers (2.02) and Trey McBride (2.09) went early, but after that the position spread out considerably: Colston Loveland in Round 4, Kyle Pitts in Round 5, Tucker Kraft in Round 6, and Sam LaPorta in Round 8 \u2014 a clear gap between the elite tier and the rest of the position.<\/p>\n
